Extra projects

Whenever I'm not designing or illustrating, I am always doing something creative. This collection features my additional skills and interests, including fursuit making, costume design, motion design, UI/UX design, typography, and branding systems. Projects that aren't as polished are placed here, so that you may see my process and further experimental design and practice.

Branding Systems

SURGE is an original, hand-drawn logomark created by myself and three colleagues. While I focused on the typography ideation and the final vectorization, they focused on the paired logomark and the color ideation. The result is a striking and unique logomark that emits energy, power, and confidence. It was created to be a potential theme for our 2026 Capstone Exhibition.

The 2032 New Orleans Summer Olympics series was completed as my first branding project. Focusing on the spirit of the city, I developed ten typography sketches and moved forward with sketch nine. Then, I applied colors and produced a logomark, further developing the system by creating three badge designs and eight pictogram designs. Bright colors and interesting patterns were used to represent the artistic and free spirit carried by New Orleans, a city of art and music.

UI/UX Design

This is the homepage for an imaginative brand called the Cluck House Hatchery, which focused on selling and breeding chickens and their eggs. Featuring hand-painted illustrations of these unique birds, I created this brand to be fun, positive, and educational. The goal was to share my own love for these interesting birds with my clientele, appealing to individuals who love chickens and who collect different breeds and egg colors as pets, show birds, or other joyful purposes.

This is a single-page website project, completed as my first ever UI/UX design experience. Though I would change a lot about it now, it was still an exciting process and taught me a lot about the flow and structure of a webpage. Utilizing hand-drawn sketches, digital collage, and edited images, I was able to create an interesting, informative, and dynamic website experience.

Motion Design

ZONE ONE is a forty-second title sequence based on the novel of the same name by Colson Whitehead. Utilizing textures and heavily edited media that was collected or captured, this title sequence creates a feeling of ominous suspense, danger, and infection, as it focuses on undead humans. Exploring the affects of a zombie apocalypse, both mental and physical, was my goal. Click on either of the above images to view the full-length title sequence on YouTube.

Fursuit making and costume design

To showcase my craftsmanship and ability to conceptualize 3D products, I have included two of my costume designs. These costumes were refurbish projects, as they arrived to me in damaged and low-quality conditions. I was able to utilize their beautiful base features to redo key parts of them. The costume above is called "Storm," an inventive steampunk griffon character. His beak arrived in very damaged condition, so I sanded and hand-painted it entirely. Some of the foam inside his head was also old and flat, so I focused a lot on the user's comfortability by replacing the foam and lining the inside with a soft fabric. I created his wings from scratch, which when measured are over six feet long, but easily wearable as a chest harness piece. I source most of my materials from thrift shops, then modify them for whatever purpose I may have. I am resourceful and creative, and I find it an exciting challenge to re-imagine everyday materials.

My next project, "Lyra," also arrived to me in mediocre position, but she had an amazing base. I completely replaced her eyes using printed see-through mesh, sanded and repainted her 3D-printed jewelry, and added hibiscus flowers to her mane and tail. She was originally male, but I added pink accents and sparkly black eyeliner to feminize her appearance. I gave her a stylish outfit with pink heart glasses, a luxurious mink coat (also thrifted!), and classy black boots.

Poster design

A quick and experimental poster for the podcast 99% Invisible. This story was about vultures who helped an obscure culture honor their dead, and how they provided a sacred relationship to the culture. I wanted to experiment with textures and colors, as well as the somewhat gruesome nature of the story, "Towers of Silence." I enjoy making poster designs that are unique and bold.
